Dietary supplementation with medium-chain TAG has long-lasting cognition-enhancing effects in aged dogs

This study investigates the benefits of medium chain triglycerides (MCT) as a source of ketones on cognitive function in aging Beagle dogs. Dogs underwent cognitive tests before and after the 8 months of treatment period with a 5.5% MCT-supplemented diet. The supplemented dogs showed significantly better performance in most of the tests and increased levels of β-hydroxybutyrate compared to the control group, suggesting the benefit of the supplementation.
